This full colour compact guide covers each model of car and light commercial vehicle produced and sold under the Standard and Triumph marques between 1945 and 1984, illustrated and described with comprehensive technical detail.
In 1945, Sir John Black, then Chairman of the Standard Motor Company, brought together two established pedigrees to form Standard-Triumph International.
Black's inspired use of the Triumph brand, first on a conventionally designed saloon, and then on a world-beating range of sports cars that immediately gained success in competition, created strong consumer demand for the brand among enthusiastic motorists who appreciated its style and engineering. The Standard name was eventually discontinued, and all subsequent models were sold as Triumphs.
Always a marque with style and panache, Triumph and Standard cars are now much loved, and much sought-after classics.
Our A Pictorial History series books provide a unique and detailed insight into the range of models 19th and 20th century car makers created. Triumph & Standard Cars features 244 original photographs, many specially taken at car events, owner's club meetings, and rallies across the UK, revealing the breadth and scope of Triumph and Standard's manufacturing efforts from 1945 to 1984.
